Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct at FCT College of Education, Zuba, outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all members of the college community. It promotes integrity, respect, discipline, and professionalism in all academic and social interactions.

1. Academic Integrity

  • Students must avoid plagiarism, cheating, and any form of academic dishonesty.
  • Staff must uphold transparency in grading, research, and supervision.

2. Respect for Persons

  • All individuals shall be treated with dignity, regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, or background.
  • Bullying, harassment, and discrimination are strictly prohibited.

3. Dress and Appearance

  • Students and staff are expected to dress modestly and professionally on campus.
  • Uniforms (where applicable) must be worn appropriately.

4. Punctuality and Attendance

  • Regular attendance in lectures, seminars, and official functions is mandatory.
  • Late arrivals and absenteeism without valid reasons may attract disciplinary action.

5. Use of College Property

  • Facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, and libraries must be used in a responsible manner.
  • Vandalism, theft, or misuse of resources will result in sanctions.

6. Social Media and Communication

  • Online behaviour must reflect the values of the college.
  • Hate speech, misinformation, or inappropriate content shared by students or staff may lead to disciplinary review.

7. Substance Abuse and Conduct

  • The use of drugs, alcohol, or any intoxicating substances on campus is strictly forbidden.
  • Violent behaviour, cultism, and criminal activity will result in expulsion or legal action.

8. Community Responsibility

  • Students are expected to participate in community service and uphold the college’s reputation off-campus.
  • Staff must model ethical leadership and mentorship.
