Dr. Muhammad Gambo Hamza was born on 2nd day of June, 1960 in Jos, Jos-North Local Government, the capital city of Plateau State in the North Central Nigeria.

After completing his Primary education, he proceeded to School for Higher Islamic Studies (now College of Islamic Studies, Jos) where he obtained his grade II teachers certificate and General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1987 respectively. He was offered admission at Advanced Teachers College, (now Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kano) where he obtained his Nigeria Certificate in Education (N C E) between 1987-1990. He gained admission into University of Jos for his B.A. (Hons) and M.A. Degrees respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in Arabic at the famous University of Jos in 2005.

Dr. Hamza began his teaching career in 1987 when he joined Ministry of Defence, Lagos as Language instructor. He was once a lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies, Department of Religious Studies, University of Jos. He joined the services of FCT College of Education Zuba in April, 2001 as Chief Lecturer. He served in many capacities in the college, including a pioneer Dean school of Arts and Social Sciences, Pioneer Dean school of Languages, Director of Remedial Studies, Director Consultancy Services, and Director continuing education. Dr, M.G. Hamza assumes duty as Substantive Provost on 2nd day of July, 2014.

In pursuit of his most cherished career (academics) Dr. Hamza had written Articles in some peer review spread across Nigeria. His area of research interest encompasses Languages and Literary Studies. He had travelled to many places for Conferences, Workshops and Seminars. He has to his credit more than thirty Academic Publications (Journals, Chapter contributions, conferences, and Book of Reading) spread across Universities, and Allied Institutions.

Dr. Hamza is happily married and blessed with children. He prefers moderation, hardworking and sincerity in all his dealings.
